Jim Grimsley is a playwright and novelist. His first novel, Winter Birds, won the Sue Kaufman Prize for First Fiction from the American Academy of Arts and Letters and received a special citation from the Ernest Hemingway Foundation. His novel, Dream Boy, won the Award for Gay, Lesbian and Bisexual Literature from the American Library Association and was adapted for the stage. He received the Lila Wallace-Reader’s Digest Writers’ Award for his novel, My Drowning, and won an Academy Award in Literature from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. His latest works are The Last Green Tree, Forgiveness and Jesus Is Sending You This Message. He teaches at Emory University.
