Lee Smith has published 11 novels and three collections of short stories. She is a Lila Wallace-Reader’s Digest Writers’ Award recipient and winner of the Fellowship of Southern Writers’ Robert Penn Warren Award for Fiction. In 1999, Smith received the Academy Award in Literature from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. Her latest novels are The Last Girls, winner of the Southern Book Critics Circle Award, and On Agate Hill.
