Moira Crone – 2009 Robert Penn Warren Award for Fiction recipient – is a short story writer and novelist. Her publications include the novel A Period of Confinement and three collections of short stories: What Gets Into Us, Dream State and The Winnebago Mysteries and Other Stories. Five of her stories have appeared in New Stories from the South: The Year’s Best, including “The Ice Garden,” which won the William Faulkner/Wisdom Prize. Her fiction has been published in numerous magazines, including The New Yorker, The North American Review, Ploughshares, The Southern Review, The New Orleans Review and Habitus. Crone teaches at Louisiana State University.
