Robert Morgan wrote the novel Gap Creek, which won the Southern Book Award for Fiction, and The Truest Pleasure, a Publisher’s Weekly Best Book of the Year and New York Times Notable. Morgan has published three other novels, including Brave Enemies, three books of short fiction and eleven books of poetry. His most recent work is Boone: A Biography, which was selected as a Washington Post Best Book of 2007. A native of the mountains of North Carolina, Morgan is Kappa Alpha Professor of English at Cornell University.
